JUDIPRO is a legal expert system providing support in divorce cases. The novelty of the system lies not only in its capability of making inferences, but also in the ability to assess the quality of legal argumentation in context. In this paper we focus on arguments based on factors which may promote or demote certain conclusions in analysed cases. The parameter of strength of the promoting and demoting relations is introduced. In addition, we take into consideration that factors may be present in cases to different degrees. The structuring of the model is illustrated by a real life example.
