The paper represents a selection of legal acts from the German speaking countries as graphs and
analyses the characteristics of the graphs: the density of the graph, the degree of the nodes, the
distance and the strength of the edges. The comparison shows no differences regarding the country
of origin; in contrast, legal acts from the same legal domains have a similar structure. Substantive
criminal acts and data protection acts are highly connected while substantive civil acts are weakly
connected.
