This article examines how the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) can address copyright enforcement challenges posed by generative AI (GAI), comparing its mechanisms to traditional methods under the IPRED Directive, as implemented in Slovak law. While the DSA’s accessible, cost-effective processes primarily apply to embedded GAI, offering swift but limited remedies, traditional judicial measures provide broader claims and binding results. The study concludes that the DSA can serve as a complementary, initial redress mechanism, but comprehensive enforcement still relies on conventional legal frameworks.
