To offer their users selective information acquisition is one of the major challenges for legal databases. Even against the backdrop of developments within web search, relevancy sorting has established itself as one of the most popular but at the same time most complex and controversial measure in the field. In this speech, the core thesis of the speaker’s dissertation is being elucidated, namely that subject-specific relevancy sorting should be used by legal databases to successfully serving their users information requirements in the future.
