To clarify serious crimes, Swiss judicial authorities ordered surveillance activities in telecommunications. The responsible compulsory measure courts decide on the permission. The service for monitoring of postal and telecommunications traffic («Dienst Überwachung Post- und Fernmeldeverkehr [Dienst ÜPF]») will implement the measures together with the providers. The «Dienst ÜPF» issues guidelines, so the providers can handle these surveillances smoothly. These guidelines have been modernized and the update has been released on 22 October 2015. (ah)
