Charlotte Sieber-Gasser is a PostDoc Research Fellow of the NCCR trade regulation at the World Trade Institute in Bern and a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Trade and Economic Integration at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. She is currently working on three research projects funded by the NCCR trade regulation on the diffusion of liberalising commitments in preferential trade agreements, on legal indicators of the level of enforcement of preferential trade agreements, and on the regulation of South-South labour migration outside of preferential trade agreements. Charlotte Sieber-Gasser also works on legal issues related to the implications of TTIP and other mega-regionals for third countries.
 
 
Charlotte Sieber-Gasser completed her PhD in 2014 at the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern in Switzerland on preferential services trade agreements between developing countries. Previously, she obtained her MLaw at the Universities of Bern and Fribourg, Switzerland in 2008 and continued her studies at the University of Manchester, UK where she graduated in 2009 with an MA in Development Studies. Charlotte Sieber-Gasser recently taught trade regulation, trade law and development, and European law at the universities of Bern and St.Gallen and is a supervisor for master theses at the World Trade Institute in Bern. She has written and published on the role of services trade in circular migration, Sino-African tied aid investments, regulatory varieties in the regulation of labour migration worldwide, the link between migration, trade and investment, the dynamics between preferentialism and multilateralism, on the compatibility of the Swiss referendum on mass immigration with trade law, and more recently on the implications of the TTIP and other mega-regionals on Switzerland’s trade policy and democratic institutions.
