IRIS 2023: Legal Informatics as Science of Legal Methods / Legal Information / E-Government

Dear readers

The 26th International Legal Informatics Symposium is currently taking place at the University of Salzburg and has as its general theme «Legal Informatics as Science of Legal Methods». It deals with the question of how the methodology of legal sciences can meet the requirements of the legal system in the global virtual space in the age of digitalisation and how far this change in methods has already progressed.

As in previous years, the scope of the conference is very broad, with contributions on virtually all topics of legal informatics.

This issue of Jusletter IT contains the contributions on the general topic of the conference as well as those on legal information and e-government. As usual, the other IRIS contributions will be published in future issues.

At this point, a programme note: On 25 January 2023, Weblaw AG started with the initial event for the new BrownBag webinar topic series «ChatGPT and the Legal World». On 1 March 2023, the free webinar «ChatGPT und Co. – Die datenschutzrechtliche Perspektive» with David Rosenthal will take place.

We wish you an exciting read!
